Learning Together

Sessions can combine discussion, practice, and review, with room to adjust along the way.

My teaching approach

A supportive space to learn and grow.

I start by asking questions and inviting students to explain what they already know, so we can build on their understanding. For test preparation, we explore the topic together, work through practice problems, and review what we’ve learned. For assignments, I offer guidance and new ways of thinking while the student stays involved in the work.

A clear plan and effective time management can make a meaningful difference in academic success. I help students identify what to focus on, find study methods that work for them, and allocate their time in a way that feels manageable.

When a topic feels frustrating, I bring patience and a calm approach, adapting explanations and incorporating the student’s interests. My goal is to help students develop confidence, curiosity, and an understanding that stays with them beyond the next test.

BUILDING CONFIDENCE

Understanding that lasts.

In a world where quick answers are easy to find, I believe there is lasting value in understanding how and why things work. By making material approachable and engaging, I hope to spark curiosity and help students discover the joy of learning. Together, we build the critical-thinking skills and confidence to explore ideas, ask questions, and carry that understanding beyond the classroom.

A little about me

I’m based in Newport Beach, California, and graduated from Barnard College, Columbia University, with a degree in Cell and Molecular Biology. I’m currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Epidemiology at Columbia University.

My tutoring experience spans high school, college, and graduate school, including work with a tutoring organization. I also offer academic support for younger students and students with learning disabilities.

I enjoy helping students work through challenging material, ask questions, and discover approaches to learning that work for them. I believe that building confidence is just as important as understanding the material itself.

Outside of tutoring, I enjoy swimming in the Pacific, exploring coffee shops, and trying new hobbies. Lately, I’ve been learning guitar and woodworking, and I love listening to podcasts.
